The Westchester County Youth Bureau, in partnership with Mercy University and Sister to Sister International, Inc. (STSI), organized a conference on March 22 focused on careers in medicine, technology, and finance. The event attracted over 200 students from eighth to twelfth grade across the county, marking an increase in both scope and attendance compared to the 2023 MedTech conference.
Innovation strategist Neeti Sanyal opened the conference with a keynote address that offered insights into innovation and career opportunities within these fields. Participants engaged with professionals from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, St. John’s Riverside Hospital, among others, during workshops that covered topics like robotic surgery and AI's role in healthcare management.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins highlighted the importance of such events: “Opportunities like the MedTech & Finance Conference are a great example of how County government can partner with private institutions to broaden the possibilities for Westchester’s young people.”
Ernest McFadden, Executive Director of the Westchester County Youth Bureau, emphasized the significance of youth-driven innovation: “Young people of today face complex challenges. We believe that youth-driven innovation in medicine, technology and finance will be the catalyst for tomorrow’s solutions.”
