Trailblazers Awards Ceremony honors African American citizens in Westchester County

Westchester County will host the Trailblazers Awards Ceremony on February 27, 2025, in honor of Black History Month. The event will take place at The Little Theater, located in the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York. The ceremony aims to recognize outstanding African American citizens from the county.

The event is organized by Westchester County Executive Kenneth W. Jenkins, the Westchester County Board of Legislators, and the Westchester County African American Advisory Board. Attendees are invited to join a reception starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 6:15 p.m.

This year's honorees include Dr. La Ruth Gray, who will receive the "Cecil H. Parker Award" for her contributions to education. Edward J. Lewis III will be honored with the "Cab Calloway Award" for his achievements in arts.

Individuals interested in attending the ceremony are requested to RSVP by February 20.
