The Westchester County Health Department has announced the closure of several beaches due to elevated bacteria levels following significant rainfall in the past 24 hours. The affected beaches include those in Mamaroneck, Rye, and New Rochelle.
"If excessive rainfall does not occur in the next 24 hours, beaches may reopen on August 6, 2024," stated a representative from the Health Department.
