The Westchester County Health Department has announced the closure of a beach due to elevated bacteria levels detected in water samples collected on July 8 and July 10. The bacteria levels exceeded the thresholds set by New York State regulations. The County will conduct additional sampling at this location.

Furthermore, two beaches previously closed earlier this week due to algae presence on Mohegan Lake remain closed.

Residents and visitors are advised to check the Westchester County website for updates on beach closures and reopening schedules. The County emphasizes its commitment to maintaining high standards of environmental health and safety across its recreational facilities.
