Moody's Investors Service has revised Westchester County's financial outlook from stable to positive, affirming its Aa1 issuer and debt ratings. This change reflects the county's improved financial position and commitment to fiscal responsibility.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins commented on the development: “This recognition by Moody’s is a testament to our administration’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, economic growth and serving the residents of Westchester County. The positive outlook positions us well for continued investment in our communities while maintaining our financial strength.”
Earlier this week, Westchester County received a AAA bond rating from S&P Global Ratings. Fitch Ratings also reaffirmed the county's AAA bond rating, underscoring its fiscal responsibility and financial strength. The positive outlook revision indicates Moody's confidence in the county’s financial stability, prudent fiscal management, strong local economy, and sound financial practices supported by the county’s fund balance.
