Mayor Mike Spano announced the upcoming 10th Annual Yonkers Arts Weekend, stating, “Yonkers arts are more vibrant than ever.” He highlighted the new public art installations in the city and the collaboration with Yonkers Arts. Spano also emphasized the involvement of talented young individuals in the community, saying they continue to inspire and enrich the city's cultural tapestry.

Expressing excitement about the event, a representative from Yonkers Arts mentioned, “Yonkers Arts is extremely thrilled to partner once again with the City of Yonkers to present Yonkers Arts Weekend.” The collaborative effort aims to celebrate the arts and diverse culture of the city while showcasing the incredible local talent. The ongoing support of the City is seen as essential for the success of the event, which promises to offer inspiring artistic experiences for the community.

Yonkers Arts Weekend, which has been running since 2014, has elevated Yonkers into a prominent arts district in the lower Hudson Valley. The annual event attracts over 10,000 visitors to City galleries, offering a range of pop-up exhibitions, free art workshops, and musical performances across various venues in the downtown area and Carpet Mills Arts District.

Community partners for Yonkers Arts Weekend include a diverse range of organizations such as Blue Door Art Center, Hudson River Museum, and Yonkers Public Library’s Riverfront Art Gallery. These partnerships contribute to the success of the event and highlight the vibrant artistic scene within Yonkers.

Yonkers, the third largest city in New York State, is described as the gateway to the Hudson Valley with over 40 diverse suburban neighborhoods.
