Air Quality Health Advisory

Cc118

This robocall was sent out citywide on 6/7 at 2pm.

As you have probably noticed, air quality here in New Rochelle throughout the entire northeast has been severely impacted by wildfires in Canada. Conditions may remain poor for several days.

We urge residents to remain indoors with windows closed to the degree possible.  Anyone with a respiratory condition should be especially cautious about exposure.  If you do need to go outside, experts advise wearing a tight-fitting mask and changing your clothes when returning home.  Please also be sure to monitor the health of loved ones who may be vulnerable, including children, the elderly, or anyone who is medically-fragile.

All of the City’s active recreationally facilities are closed until conditions improve.  And while passive parks are open, we recommend avoiding outdoor recreation of any kind.

Additional bulletins will follow, if warranted.
