Westchester County Executive George Latimer welcomed members of the Sikhs of Westchester to mark Vaisaki, also known as Baisakhi, a celebration of the spring harvest in India. It also coincides with the establishment of the Sikh religion in 1699. The month of April is recognized as Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month.
