Cost of college went up for all students at SUNY at Purchase College

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.4 percent for 2018-19 at SUNY at Purchase College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York residents paid $8,698 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $200 more than the $8,498 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 112.4 percent more than residents this year, or $18,478. Their price tag grew 1.8 percent from $18,148 in 2017-18.

About 85 percent of the school's undergraduate population are New York residents. About 14 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 481 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.2 million and 428 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.8 million.

Including all undergraduates (4,234), 2,509 students used grants or scholarships totaling $21.4 million, and 2,079 students took out $14 million in federal student loans.
