On June 22, 2023 the City of New Rochelle will bring the community together to discuss the opioid and drug crisis in New Rochelle. Residents will hear from local and area nonprofits about what resources are available and where to get help.
The Opioid Forum and Resource Fair will be held at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital’s HETI Conference Center located at 29 Glover Johnson Place from 6-9pm. At 7pm, the resource fair turns to a community forum, moderated by New Rochelle City Manager Kathleen Gill. This more intimate conversation will allow residents to ask questions about opioid and drug use and be provided strategies for families to recognize and combat usage.
Partners include Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital, the City School District of New Rochelle, NCADD (National Council for Alcoholism and Drug Dependence – Westchester), CHAMP Hotline – Legal Action Center, Drug Crisis in our Backyard, Hope Not Handcuffs, Westchester Coalition for Drug & Alcohol-Free Youth (Power to the Parent), Mental Health Association of Westchester – Encompass Program
Dinner, translation (Spanish) and child care (ages 10 and under) will be provided. Registration is not required, but for more information or questions contact Charles Curtis, Director of Community Engagement, ccurtis@newrochelleny.com.
