Westchester County issued the following announcement on Dec. 31.
“While the end of 2020 is something that has seemingly been longed for since the year began, actually marks the last day of what has been a challenging year for Westchester residents.
We’ve begun the process of looking in the mirror and facing the facts about racial injustice in our Country, we’ve battled a virus and economic uncertainty - and we’ve sadly buried scores of our neighbors.
Through all of this, we as Westchester residents have been resilient. These lessons learned can only make for a better 2021 – a year where we can all grow together to become a better County for every one of our residents. I wish a Happy & Healthy New Year to all of our Westchester neighbors.”
