Face

Westchester County issued the following announcement on May 7.

In observance of National Day of Prayer, County Executive Latimer was joined by Faith Leaders today from the Town of Greenburgh kicking-off a program to distribute masks to religious communities in need.

Latimer said: “Greenburgh residents need to know that society at large will make extra efforts to stop the contagion. The County has been able to receive masks that are intended for use by the community and these will be donated to three major houses of worship in the Fairview section of Greenburgh for distribution to their congregants. Thanks to the leadership of Legislator Alfreda Williams and Councilwoman Gina Jackson, we are here with them to make this distribution happen.”

In Greenburgh, Latimer was joined by Bishop Wilbert Preston from Christ Temple Greater International, Reverend Dr. Verlin D. Williams from Union Baptist Church, Pastor Leroy Richards from First Community Church of the Nazarene, Greenburgh Town Councilwoman Gina Jackson, and Greenburgh Department of Community Resources Commissioner Andre Early, Deputy Commissioner Terrance Jackson and Assistant Commissioner David Reggina.

Previously, Latimer has personally delivered thousands of masks donated by Hanes Brands Inc. to the Town/Village of Ossining, City of Peekskill, Rye City, Village of Larchmont, Village of Pleasantville, Town of Mount Pleasant, Town of Mamaroneck, Village of Port Chester and the Village of Rye Brook. Latimer will continue to make these deliveries around the County.
