The City of White Plains announced on Apr. 20 that it is seeking candidates for the Police Officer Civil Service exam, scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The salary range for the position is between $61,808 and $120,987. The exam is open to residents from Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange, Nassau, and Bronx counties.
According to the announcement, the city aims to attract a diverse group of applicants for its police force. Women, minorities, and veterans are encouraged to apply as part of ongoing efforts to broaden representation within local law enforcement.

Slater Community Center (2 Fisher Court), El Centro Hispano (295 Central Avenue), and the Department of Public Safety (77 So. Lexington Avenue). Application forms must be submitted or postmarked by Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 5:00 PM; late applications will not be accepted. There is a $50 application fee that must not be paid in cash.
The city will offer free training sessions covering both the written and physical agility portions of the exam. Applications cannot be submitted online or via email; only hard copy submissions will be considered according to stated procedures.
