The City of White Plains has adopted the Vision Zero Action Plan, which aims to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on city roadways by 2050. The plan outlines 12 improvement projects that will focus on physical infrastructure upgrades at 25 intersections throughout the city.

Development of these projects involved input from a wide range of community members and stakeholders. Residents, business leaders, healthcare organizations, not-for-profit groups, the School District, neighborhood associations, city staff, and Common Council members all contributed to shaping the plan. The process also included an assessment of crash trends in White Plains and a review of related policies from local, county, state levels as well as action plans from similar communities.

“The City of White Plains is looking forward to implementing these projects and continuing this important conversation with the community,” according to a statement from city officials.

The adoption of this plan marks a step toward making streets safer for everyone who uses them.
