Productions filmed in Westchester County have received a total of 61 nominations for the 77th Annual Emmy Awards. This highlights the county’s status as a key location for film and television production. Among the nominees, “Severance” and “The Penguin” stand out with 27 and 24 nominations respectively.
Ken Jenkins, Westchester County Executive, commented on this achievement: “To have 61 Emmy nominations tied to productions filmed in Westchester County is a powerful validation of our role in the film and television industry. These accolades reflect the depth, versatility, and production value our communities offer.”
Apple TV+’s “Severance,” which was filmed at various locations in Westchester including Bier House in Pleasantville and Trinity Lutheran Church in White Plains, has been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series among other categories.
Ryan Smith from “Severance” stated: “Westchester has a great variety of housing stock, amazing architecture… that contribute to a look that’s not anywhere else.”
HBO Max’s “The Penguin,” also shot in Westchester at Sleepy Hollow Country Club and Yonkers locations doubling as Gotham City, earned recognition with 24 nominations.
Natasha Caputo, Director of Westchester County Tourism & Film said: “We’re proud to see so many Emmy-nominated productions that chose Westchester as a filming location.”
The region continues to support its growing film industry by offering services like location scouting and streamlined permitting. The Emmy Awards will take place on September 14, 2025.
