As the 2025 season of Playland Park unfolds, Westchester County Communications Director Catherine Cioffi has issued a statement addressing the park’s condition and current operations.
“As has been widely reported, Playland Park was left in a significant state of disrepair, putting the 2025 season at risk,” Cioffi stated. She expressed gratitude to various departments and contractors for their efforts in repairing rides and restoring the park. Additionally, she acknowledged New York State officials for their prompt inspections and approvals necessary for reopening.
Cioffi emphasized transparency regarding ride availability: “That said, as we have communicated on our website, on social media, in the news, and at the point of sale, not all rides are currently operational at this time.” The aim is to enable visitors to make informed decisions with free admission options available.
Despite these challenges, over 65,000 guests have visited Playland this season. They have benefited from free admission and an all-day ride pass priced at $15. Parking fees have also been reduced compared to last year when management was under a different company.
The park continues to offer family-friendly entertainment with its fireworks display on Friday evenings and access to the beach and pool facilities.
