Sugar Pond in Hastings-on-Hudson is currently closed for skating because the ice has not reached the required thickness. The Hastings Recreation Department stated that skating will only be allowed once the ice measures at least six inches thick.

Parks staff are monitoring the ice conditions and will provide updates by email to residents about when it is safe to return to the pond.

Residents are asked to stay off the ice until it is declared safe. “We appreciate your cooperation and urge all residents to exercise caution and stay off the ice until it is deemed safe,” said officials from the department.

For more information, residents can visit the Village of Hastings-On-Hudson’s official website at http://hohny.gov.
