Today marks the beginning of Ramadan, a month observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, and self-discipline. County Executive Ken Jenkins issued a statement acknowledging the significance of this holy month.
"Today marks the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a sacred time of fasting, prayer and self-discipline observed by Muslims around the world. It is a time of deep reflection, spiritual renewal and generosity as those who observe seek to grow closer to their faith and show kindness to others."
Jenkins highlighted the contributions of Westchester's Muslim community, emphasizing their role in enriching the county. "Westchester is home to a diverse and thriving Muslim community whose contributions enrich our County every day," he stated.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to inclusivity within Westchester County. "As County Executive, I am committed to ensuring that Westchester remains a place where people of all backgrounds and faiths feel valued."
