The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services (DSPS) is set to hold its Annual Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 29. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Westchester County Center, located at 198 Central Avenue in White Plains, NY.

This hearing serves as an opportunity for individuals to discuss concerns affecting senior citizens and their families in Westchester County. Additionally, DSPS will present its updated goals and objectives for 2025. These updates are part of the 2024-2028 four-year area plan concerning the proposed use of funds from the Older Americans Act and the New York State Community Services for the Elderly Program. The final plan, which will incorporate public feedback, is slated for submission to the New York State Office for the Aging after receiving approval from Westchester County Executive George Latimer.

The event is open to everyone, with no registration required to attend or speak. The plan will be available at the hearing and can also be requested starting Tuesday, October 22. To obtain a copy or for more information or accommodations, contact Andrew Crawford at (914) 813-6408. Attendees are encouraged to highlight how DSPS services benefit older residents in maintaining a healthy and dignified lifestyle.

Written comments on the plan must be submitted by Tuesday, November 12, addressed to Sandra Brown at the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, located at 9 South First Avenue, 10th Floor, Mount Vernon, NY, 10550.

For further details about DSPS services, call (914) 813-6300 or visit www.westchestergov.com/seniors.
