Westchester County closes multiple beaches following heavy rainfall

The Westchester County Health Department has announced the closure of several beaches in New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, and Rye due to significant rainfall. Over two inches of rain have fallen in the past 24 hours, prompting these measures.

In New Rochelle, Hudson Park Beach, Davenport Club, Greentree Club, and Surf Club are affected. In Mamaroneck, Harbor Island, Beach Point Club, Orienta Beach Club, and Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club are closed. Additionally, Coveleigh Club in Rye is also shut down.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid contact with the water in these areas until further notice. The County emphasizes its commitment to maintaining high standards of environmental health and safety at its recreational facilities.
