Over 7,500 people attended the 47th Annual Day at Playland for People with Disabilities, an event offering free, unlimited rides for individuals with disabilities, their family members, and caregivers. The event was sponsored by the Westchester County Office for People with Disabilities, in collaboration with the Department of Parks Recreation and Conservation and Verizon.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer commented on the significance of the event: “This is a special event that has been provided year after year for our County residents who are differently-abled. Our Westchester County Office for People with Disabilities prides itself on its inclusivity and providing opportunities that allow all of our residents to enjoy fun games and activities – just like everyone else.”
Evan Latainer, Director of the Office for People with Disabilities, also expressed his sentiments: “It is an honor for us to be here today and be part of another wonderful event here on the sound shore. We look forward to continuing our mission in reaching out to everyone throughout Westchester County.”
The county encourages residents to subscribe to its weekly My Westchester email newsletter, which highlights selected events from the current week.
