Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano officially launched the City's new LED display sign, Yonkers-Tron, on March 20, 2024. The impressive sign, affixed on top of the Government Center Garage on New Main Street near Nepperhan Avenue, aims to inform and engage area residents and visitors with the city's latest news, events, images, and videos.
"Yonkers-Tron welcomes all to our waterfront district and serves as another platform to inform and educate our residents about what’s happening in our City," expressed Mayor Mike Spano during the unveiling. He further emphasized, "This LED display sign utilizes the latest technology to inform the public about matters of public safety and quality of life. All they have to do is look up."
Installed by the Yonkers' Engineering Department, the Yonkers-Tron measures 26 feet by 16 feet and stands as the City's newest media feature. Citizens can stay updated on City of Yonkers news and events through various platforms such as the city's website, Optimum Channel 78, FIOS Channel 39 (City Hall TV), YouTube, Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and Instagram.
