Value of Rye-based Real Estate Investment Trusts company Acadia Realty Trust (AKR:NYQ) fell 31.2% on Aug. 30

The value in Real Estate Investment Trusts stocks rose 3.6 percent on Aug. 30 from the previous day.

The strongest performing Real Estate Investment Trusts company in New York was Empire State Realty Trust Inc. (ESRT:NYQ), sitting 60.6 percent higher to sell at $7.09.

Kimco Realty Corp. (KIM:NYQ) fared the worst among New York companies, suffering a 100 percent drop to $21.44.

Among Rye companies, Acadia Realty Trust (AKR:NYQ) saw the biggest fall in value of 31.2 percent on Aug. 30.

The Personal Goods industry was the daily best-performing industry on the market. The market is divided into 45 different industries.

Tobacco was the worst-performing industry.

Healthcare and technology stocks are viewed as the safest bets for long-term gains.

Besty Kuekcer with Benzinga.com said healthcare-related stocks, such as hospital conglomerates and insurance companies, have weathered numerous economic crises and still make a profit, suggesting that they are generally a stable investment.

While technology stocks can be more risky, given the boom-bust nature of new tech companies, Kuecker recommended a diverse portfolio of tech companies to strike it big when companies succeed or sell to other larger companies.

For short-term investments, Kuecker recommended “consumer discretionary” stocks, which are sensitive to economic changes but can rise greatly on the back of a strong economy.
