Rivertown Thrift announced on Mar. 23 that it is collecting gently used formal wear in preparation for the upcoming prom and wedding season.
The collection aims to provide affordable options for those attending special events, while also supporting a local cause.
Donations of suits, dresses, shirts, ties, shoes, and accessories are being accepted at two locations: through April 3 at the Annex and on April 4 at a Community Center pop-up. The organization encouraged residents to “stay tuned for details on our Formal Wear Sidewalk Sale (April 10–12)!”
Proceeds from the sale will benefit The Hastings Food Pantry. Rivertown Thrift is an all-volunteer program offered by Friends of the Hastings Youth Council. More information can be found on their website: http://hohny.gov.
The effort reflects ongoing community support initiatives in Hastings-on-Hudson as local groups continue to organize events that both serve residents’ needs and contribute to charitable causes.
