The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson announced on April 4 that parking will not be allowed on the west side (lower level) of the Steinschneider parking lot starting Monday, April 6 at 7:00 a.m. The restriction is due to trenching work required for the installation of new electric vehicle chargers.

This measure affects residents and visitors who use the Steinschneider lot, as both parking and access to existing electric vehicle chargers will be impacted during construction. The village said these changes are necessary as part of efforts to improve local facilities.

In an announcement, officials stated, “Due to trenching work required for the installation of new EV chargers, parking will not be permitted on the west side (lower level) of the Steinschneider parking lot until further notice. Additionally, the two existing EV chargers will be temporarily unavailable during construction. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our facilities.”

No timeline was given for when parking or charging services would resume in this area. Residents are encouraged to check official village updates online for further information.

The introduction of additional electric vehicle charging stations reflects ongoing infrastructure upgrades aimed at supporting cleaner transportation options within Hastings-on-Hudson.
