The City of New Rochelle held its THRIVE Non-Profit Grant Ceremony on April 20 at City Hall, where twelve local nonprofit organizations were recognized and awarded grants for their work in the community.
The event highlights the city’s ongoing support for nonprofits that contribute to economic empowerment, workforce development, education, youth services, health and wellness, as well as arts and cultural programming. These efforts are seen as essential in improving the quality of life for residents across New Rochelle.
According to city officials, the selected organizations were chosen through a competitive application process that attracted dozens of submissions. The recipients were acknowledged for their innovative projects and meaningful impact within the community. The funding is intended to help these groups expand their services throughout the coming year.
“THRIVE is more than a grant program. It is a statement about the kind of city we are building together. When we invest in our nonprofits, we invest in the health, opportunity, and resilience of every New Rochelle resident. I look forward to celebrating these deserving organizations and seeing the lasting impact this funding will create across our community,” said Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert.
City Manager Wilfredo Melendez said: “Through the THRIVE program, we are making meaningful financial investments in the organizations that serve as the backbone of our community. These grant awards provide funding to expand services, reach more residents, and ensure that non-profits have the resources they need to deliver lasting, measurable impact across New Rochelle.”
The THRIVE program was launched in December 2025 after adoption of New Rochelle’s 2026 budget. It aims to strengthen equity and transparency while fostering strong partnerships with nonprofit groups delivering vital services.
