The City of Mount Vernon is responding to a situation at The Enclave on MacQuesten Parkway where burst pipes have affected residents. While this incident is not related to fire, city officials are actively engaged in the response.

The Mount Vernon Fire Department and the Office of Emergency Management are working with building management to address the issue. City representatives are also coordinating with local real estate professionals to help relocate those impacted, especially as colder weather approaches.

Decisions about temporary relocation or vacating the property are being made by the building owner and property management, not by the City. The city stated: “The safety and well-being of residents remain the City’s top priority. The City will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as information becomes available.”

Mount Vernon operates under a mayor-council government structure, with an elected mayor serving as chief executive alongside a five-member city council. The municipality offers services through various departments focused on planning, community development, and recreation, as well as programs for seniors and veterans that contribute to community welfare (https://www.mountvernonny.gov/). The city also provides urban renewal initiatives and maintains agencies supporting different segments of its population (https://www.mountvernonny.gov/).

Mount Vernon continues to monitor developments at The Enclave and will release further information when available.
