Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins expressed his condolences following a roof collapse at the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The incident resulted in loss of life and numerous injuries during a concert.

Jenkins released a statement saying the community is “heartbroken by the devastating tragedy” and extended sympathies to affected families. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families grieving unimaginable loss, and with those still searching for missing loved ones,” he said. He also acknowledged the effort of first responders and search crews, stating they are “working tirelessly in hopes of finding more survivors.”

Jenkins emphasized solidarity with the Dominican community, noting, “Here in Westchester, we stand in solidarity with our Dominican brothers and sisters as they process this unspeakable tragedy.” He added that the county is working to identify charities actively supporting relief efforts and promised to share information on resources soon.

The county executive highlighted support for survivors dealing with physical and emotional trauma and reassured ongoing efforts to aid those in need.
