The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson has lifted the snow emergency that was put in place following the Blizzard of 2026. Officials thanked residents for their cooperation during the cleanup efforts.

The Department of Public Works announced that residents who are unable to wait for regular garbage or recycling collection next week may bring their waste to the DPW Garage on Saturday, February 28, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM.

Authorities reminded both business owners and residents to shovel sidewalks within 12 hours after snowfall ends. They also advised against shoveling snow back into the street or onto other people’s property or parked cars. Residents are encouraged to keep fire hydrants clear of snow when possible.

Further information is available on the village website at http://hohny.gov.
